Police in Georgia say they’ve finally tracked down the man suspected of stealing unreleased Beyoncé music and sensitive tour details from her choreographer’s car in Atlanta earlier this summer.
Authorities confirmed that 42-year-old Kelvin Evans was arrested on Sept. 16 in Hapeville, just outside Atlanta, on a parole violation. He now faces a felony charge of entering an automobile with intent to commit theft. Evans is being held in the Fulton County Jail on $20,000 bond, according to records.
Investigators believe Evans is the man who broke into a rented Jeep Wagoneer on July 8 that belonged to Beyoncé’s longtime choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue. The car, parked in a garage at the Ayla apartment building, was targeted just ahead of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour performance in Atlanta. The stolen items included a flash drive filled with unreleased Beyoncé tracks, watermarked files, and tour set lists, both past and future.
Also taken were laptops, clothing, designer sunglasses, suitcases, and a pair of high-end AirPods Max headphones. Surveillance cameras captured the vehicle used in the theft, a 2025 Hyundai Elantra with Georgia plates, and linked it back to Evans through his family. Instead, police allege, he used it to pull off the theft and then returned with four black bags filled with stolen items.
So far, investigators have not recovered the missing hard drives or flash drives. For Beyoncé and her team, that’s the part of the story that still stings. Grant made a desperate 911 call in the immediate aftermath, warning that the stolen computers contained “really, really important information” connected to a “high status” client.
Evans has a long criminal history that stretches back more than two decades, including prior arrests for armed robbery, aggravated assault, and vehicle break-ins.
