Candace Owens speaks at the Turning Point USA at Clemson University event titled “All Lives Matter” in Memorial Auditorium in Clemson Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Turning Point Usa At Clemson University Candace Owens

From Grief to Anger

In episode 235 of her podcast, Candace Owens delivered an emotional and forceful response to the killing of Charlie Kirk, calling it a “public execution” and pressing public figures and institutions to release primary-source materials to clarify timelines, motivations, and claims now circulating online.

Owens opened with a tribute to Kirk and highlighted the remarks of his widow, Erica, whose statement vowed that her husband’s work would continue. Owens described a weekend of grief that shifted into frustration as she watched speculation, partial quotes, and televised commentary proliferate.

Targeting Selective Narratives

A major focus of the episode was Owens’s criticism of what she views as selective storytelling by prominent figures. She questioned televised comments by former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who referenced a recent letter from Kirk and a phone invitation to visit Israel. Owens urged the full publication of the letter and any related communications, arguing that partial excerpts can mislead.

She also pressed Turning Point USA, Tucker Carlson, Dave Smith, and major donors to release audio, text messages, and emails that could shed light on pressures surrounding speakers and debates at recent events.

Holes in the Timeline

Owens scrutinized the evolving public narrative of the investigation. She raised doubts about claims of outfit changes by the suspect, the feasibility of disassembling a rifle on a rooftop, the discovery of the weapon, and the meaning of reported social media exchanges.

She also pointed to statements suggesting another person may have been involved and emphasized that the identified suspect had not confessed. Owens urged authorities to release clearer footage, noting the many cameras on campus.

A Shift in Faith

Beyond the procedural questions, Owens spoke about Kirk’s spiritual journey, describing him as undergoing a personal transformation before his death. She urged that his “own words”—letters, recordings, and messages—be shared in full, rather than interpreted by others.

She stressed that her call for disclosure was not an accusation of guilt against any nation or group, underscoring that no evidence links foreign governments to the killing.

Demanding the Full Truth

Owens closed with a call for transparency and action. She asked listeners to reserve judgment until more complete records are made public, to support ongoing investigations, and to challenge misleading claims.

At the same time, she urged supporters to honor Kirk’s legacy through constructive engagement—supporting organizations tied to his work, participating in civic life, and prioritizing facts over factional narratives.

Her tone throughout was raw and confrontational, but the underlying demand was clear: release the full evidence, let the public decide, and refuse to accept partial truths.
