Actor Chloë Grace Moretz and photographer Kate Harrison married over Labor Day weekend. The union was revealed in a Vogue feature that chronicled their wedding preparations and fashion choices, and of course in Moretz’s own words of gratitude posted to Instagram.
Moretz, 28, is no stranger to the spotlight. She’s been in the spotlight since she was a child, and as an adult she’s dished out standout performances in Little Women, Carrie, and The Miseducation of Cameron Post. Harrison, 34, is a model and photographer whose résumé includes work for J. Crew and Topshop. The two were first linked in 2018, though they confirmed their engagement only this past New Year’s Day, when they both revealed antique-style diamond rings designed by Elizabeth Potts.
The wedding itself was deliberately intimate. Details about the ceremony’s location remain private, but the fashion choices were anything but understated. Both brides turned to Louis Vuitton’s artistic director for womenswear, Nicolas Ghesquière, to design their looks. The fittings themselves were done separately, leaving each bride in suspense about what the other would wear until the day itself.
Moretz opted for a blue gown paired with long gloves and a matching veil, a conscious rejection of the traditional white wedding dress. “It just feels like me,” she told Vogue. “I knew I would do something non-traditional.” Harrison, by contrast, wore a white bustier and skirt embellished with embroidery, paired with both a birdcage veil and a cathedral-length train. She described her dress as one that made her feel “ready,” adding that her most anticipated moment was the first look—the instant of seeing each other in their chosen gowns.
After the ceremony, Moretz changed into a tailored white jacket and trousers, topped with a cowboy hat, echoing a Louis Vuitton runway look from 2019. It was playful, celebratory, and as she put it, “a little bit of ‘Yee-haw, baby!’”
On Instagram, Moretz shared the depth of her gratitude to Ghesquière and the Vuitton team: “Your vision made our day all the more meaningful,” she wrote. For two people who’ve built careers in front of cameras, it was perhaps fitting that one of their most important days was theirs to hold close, even as they shared glimpses of it with the world.
