Twenty-six years after Amy Lynn Bradley vanished from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, her story has returned to the spotlight—this time through a Netflix documentary that has renewed interest, prompted new leads, and reawakened a family’s long-held hope. But despite the attention, the mystery of Amy’s disappearance remains as impenetrable as ever.

Bradley, a 23-year-old college graduate from Virginia, was vacationing with her family aboard the Rhapsody of the Seas in March 1998. After a night of dancing and drinks on the pool deck and in the ship’s nightclub, she was last seen sitting on the cabin balcony with her brother around 4 a.m. When her father awoke just 30 minutes later, she was gone. No one has seen her since.

The ship docked in Curaçao that morning, but Royal Caribbean declined to delay disembarkation or broadcast an onboard announcement until much later, fearing passenger disruption. An internal search yielded no trace. The family was told that Amy had likely fallen overboard—an explanation they have never accepted.

In the years since, the Bradley family has chased down leads from across the Caribbean and beyond. There have been multiple unconfirmed sightings of a woman matching Amy’s description—working at a car wash, held in a brothel, wandering a beach, seen at a bar. One anonymous tipster sent a photo of a woman known as “Jazz” on an escort website, whom FBI analysts determined bore a striking resemblance to Amy.

Now, with Amy Bradley Is Missing trending on Netflix, her family has received an influx of tips—many pointing to women who resemble Amy in appearance. Her brother Brad says thousands have reached out, some citing sightings as recent as last year. None, so far, have produced a breakthrough.

The FBI remains involved. A private investigator continues to assist the family. Yet few of the new tips come from the Caribbean, where Amy disappeared. “We’re hopeful,” Brad told TMZ. “Some of the new tips could blow the case wide open, but it’s too early to say.”

In another interview, Brad explained that he’s had to “grow some pretty thick skin” because of the toxic responses from people who have been following this story for nearly three decades. He continued, “You have the side of prayers, and support, and love, and caring, and all that good stuff. And then you have people just trying to chew us up and spit us out.”

There is no conclusive evidence that Amy fell or jumped from the ship. Her family insists she was not suicidal, nor inclined to flee. Interviews conducted shortly after her disappearance revealed possible misconduct by a crew member. Questions remain about the cruise line’s handling of the initial hours of her disappearance, including the delay in alerting passengers and the loss of cruise photos that may have shown her last interactions.

While the Netflix series sheds light on those early failures, it also reveals what’s most haunting about Amy’s case: the possibility, however remote, that she is still alive. Her family, after more than two decades, continues to believe that she is out there—and they’re not done searching.
