The infighting within MAGA world is no longer confined to behind-the-scenes power struggles or cryptic subtweets—it’s loud, personal, and increasingly public.

Right-wing provocateur Laura Loomer has launched a blistering series of attacks on Tucker Carlson after the former Fox News host likened her to “a child wielding a loaded firearm” on social media. The remark, made in an interview with The New York Times, ignited a new round of hostilities in what is becoming an ideological and personal civil war among Trump’s most prominent far-right allies.

Loomer didn’t hold back. “I’m so glad people are finally starting to see what a fraud Tucker Carlson is,” she posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. Within the hour, she doubled down, teasing explosive secrets she claims to hold about Carlson, writing ominously: “Do you want to know something about Tucker Carlson that nobody knows except me and about three other people? Something that should be the nail in his coffin?”

While the feud may read like another attention-seeking spat in a movement known for its online theater, the stakes are real. Loomer, despite her fringe tactics, has the ear of President Donald Trump. During a recent media appearance he called her “a patriot” and “a very nice person.” Trump’s embrace of Loomer—who has been banned from multiple platforms for hate speech—underscores her influence within his inner circle.

That influence has consequences. Loomer was reportedly instrumental in pushing out Dr. Vinay Prasad, a public health figure she labeled a leftist sympathizer. She allegedly mined his old tweets and leveraged her ties to Trump to force his exit from a federal role. “She does right-wing cancel culture,” one commentator observed. “She’s good at it. And she’s effective at moving Trump in her direction.”

Loomer’s aggressive tactics are increasingly shaping the future of the America First movement—and not everyone on the right is happy about it. Loomer is staunchly pro-Israel and interventionist, while Carlson and other right-wing influencers like Nick Fuentes oppose foreign entanglements and adopt a more isolationist tone.

The friction reveals fault lines that were once buried under Trump-era unity but are now bubbling to the surface. Carlson’s non-interventionist stance—especially on U.S. support for Israel—has aligned him, however uncomfortably, with figures like Fuentes, who is widely condemned for his overt antisemitism and racist rhetoric.

Candace Owens, another far-right personality, has feuded with both Loomer and Fuentes, and even appeared on Carlson’s show recently, further tangling the web of MAGA allegiances.

For now, Trump remains above the fray, selectively praising those who back him and ignoring the messier conflicts beneath. But with figures like Loomer gaining power through proximity, the battle over who gets to define Trumpism—and who gets cast out—may only get messier.
